Scopepin vs BugHerd

BugHerd is a visual feedback tool: clients pin comments on a website, and each one arrives as a task with a screenshot. Scopepin does the client feedback part too, and adds what it's for: it flags requests outside the agreed scope and turns them into priced change requests your client approves.

Why agencies pick Scopepin

It notices scope creep for you

Each request is checked against the scope you agreed. The ones outside it are flagged privately, with the reason, as they arrive.

Extra work turns into an invoice line

Bundle out-of-scope requests into a priced change request. Your client approves each item from an email link, with no login.

You see the page they saw

A snapshot of the page, rebuilt at their screen size with the pin on the element, plus console lines, errors and failed requests.

When BugHerd is the better pick

  • A team of more than one person working the same feedback today: BugHerd's entry plan includes five members.
  • Feedback on PDFs, images and Figma designs as well as websites.
  • Clients who'd rather record a short video than type.
  • Sending feedback straight into Jira, Asana, Trello or Linear.

If you build sites for clients on a fixed scope and the small extras are where your margin goes, that's what Scopepin is for.

Questions

Can I move from BugHerd to Scopepin mid-project?

Yes. Swap the script on the site for Scopepin's line and new feedback comes to Scopepin. Keep BugHerd open until its open tasks are done; Scopepin doesn't import them.

Does Scopepin work on the same sites as BugHerd?

Yes. Both install with a script on the site. Scopepin works on any site that lets you add a script before the closing body tag.

Do my clients see anything different from BugHerd?

They click a Feedback button on the site, pin a comment and type their name and email the first time, much like BugHerd. They never see a scope flag or a price unless you send them a change request.
