Scopepin vs Ybug

Ybug is a feedback and bug reporting widget: people draw on a screenshot of the page and send it with technical details. Scopepin does the client feedback part too, and adds what it's for: it flags requests outside the agreed scope and turns them into priced change requests your client approves.

Why agencies pick Scopepin

It notices scope creep for you

Each request is checked against the scope you agreed. The ones outside it are flagged privately, with the reason, as they arrive.

Extra work turns into an invoice line

Bundle out-of-scope requests into a priced change request. Your client approves each item from an email link, with no login.

You see the page they saw

A snapshot of the page, rebuilt at their screen size with the pin on the element, plus console lines, errors and failed requests.

When Ybug is the better pick

  • The lowest monthly price for a small team that only needs screenshots and console logs.
  • Hosting in the EU, which Ybug states on its pricing page.
  • Many integrations and a REST API on the higher plans.

If you build sites for clients on a fixed scope and the small extras are where your margin goes, that's what Scopepin is for.

Questions

Is Scopepin free like Ybug?

Scopepin is free for one active project, with unlimited clients and reviewers and no limit on comments.

Do both tools take screenshots?

Ybug sends a screenshot. Scopepin saves a snapshot of the page itself (with form fields masked) and rebuilds it in your dashboard at the size your client saw, with the pin on the element.

Do my clients see anything different from Ybug?

They click a Feedback button on the site, pin a comment and type their name and email the first time, much like Ybug. They never see a scope flag or a price unless you send them a change request.

How current is this comparison?
