Client feedback in Slack

Hear about client feedback where your team already talks. New comments and client answers to change requests post to Slack, in a channel for each client project or one channel for everything.

On every plan, including Free.

What arrives

  • New feedback. Who sent it, the comment and the page, with a link to the item. Several at once arrive as one message.
  • Client answers. When a client has answered a change request: what they approved and declined, and the approved total.
  • Per client. Each project can post to its own channel. Projects without one use the workspace channel.

How it fits your workflow

Most agencies already live in Slack, and many give each client their own channel. Scopepin posts into that channel when the client sends feedback, so the team sees it without opening another dashboard, and the link in each message goes straight to the item.

Messages are grouped so a busy review doesn't flood the channel: the first comment on a quiet project posts at once, and comments that follow soon after are collected and posted together within the hour. When a client answers a change request, the channel gets a summary of what they approved and declined, and the approved total.

Each project can post to its own channel, connected with Add to Slack by anyone on the team. Projects without one fall back to the workspace channel, set by the owner on the Team page. Switch new feedback or client answers off per channel, for example where the client is in the channel too.

Setup

Set it up in a couple of minutes

  1. 1

    Open the client's project

In Scopepin, open the project and find the Slack card.

  2. 2

    Add to Slack

Click Add to Slack, pick the channel for this client in Slack and allow it. A hello message confirms it's connected.

  3. 3

    Choose what posts

Switch new feedback and client answers on or off for that channel. Disconnect any time.

If something isn't working

Nothing posts to the channel
Check the project's Settings: the channel should show as connected, with new feedback switched on. If the channel was deleted or archived in Slack, connect it again.
Feedback posts to the wrong channel
A project's own channel always wins. Without one, it posts to the workspace channel. Connect a channel on the project to move it.
We can't install Slack apps
Ask a Slack admin to approve the app, or have the workspace owner paste an incoming webhook address on the Team page instead.
The hello message never arrived
Slack can take a moment. If it still hasn't arrived, disconnect and add the channel again.

Questions

Is Slack on the free plan?

Yes. Slack works on every plan, including Free.

Can each client have their own channel?

Yes. Connect a channel on each project. Any project without one posts to the workspace channel, set on the Team page.

Can I use a shared channel with the client?

Yes, if you want them to see new feedback as it arrives. Scope flags never post to Slack. Client answers include hours and amounts, so switch those off for a shared channel.

What can Scopepin do in our Slack?

Post messages to the channel you picked. It can't read messages, see other channels or post anywhere else.

We can't install apps in our Slack. Is there another way?

Yes. The workspace owner can paste an incoming webhook address on the Team page instead.
