How to add a feedback widget to a Wix site

Paste one line into your Wix site and publish. Your client clicks Feedback on the page, pins a comment where the problem is, and it lands in your dashboard with a snapshot of what they saw. About five minutes.

1Create a project for the client's site

In Scopepin, add a project and list every address the site runs on: the site's own domain (Wix runs custom code only there).

The script only accepts feedback from the addresses you list, so a copy of the line pasted on another site does nothing. List client.com and it covers www.client.com too. The project page then shows your install line, with the project's own key in place of sp_….

2Paste the line into Wix

In your Wix dashboard, open Settings, then Custom Code, click Add Custom Code, paste the line, choose All pages and Body - end, and apply.

Give it a name you'll recognize, like Scopepin feedback, so you can find it to remove it after launch.

<script src="https://scopepin.com/w/v1.js" data-key="sp_…" async></script>

Wix allows custom code only on a Premium plan with a connected domain, so the site has to be on its own domain, not a wixsite.com address.

3Publish, then test it yourself

Publish the site, open it, click Feedback and pin a comment. It appears in your dashboard with a snapshot of the page.

The widget doesn't show in the Wix Editor or its preview. Publish, then test on the live domain. The first time you send, the widget asks for your name and email, the way it will ask your client. Nobody needs an account.

4Send the link to your client

Send the client the page address and tell them to click Feedback in the corner. That's all they need.

Every comment is pinned to the element they clicked and arrives with their browser and screen size, so "the button looks wrong" comes with the page as they saw it.

What happens next

Each comment is checked against the scope you agreed with the client. The ones that go beyond it are flagged privately, and you can bundle them into a priced change request your client approves from a link.

Questions

Do my clients need a login?

No. They click Feedback on the site, pin a comment and type their name and email the first time. That's it.

Will it slow the site down?

The line loads after the page, and the part that captures the page snapshot only loads when someone sends feedback.

Does it work on a wixsite.com address?

No. Wix only runs custom code on sites with a Premium plan and a connected domain.

What if I change the domain later?

Wix may ask you to add custom code again after a domain change. Check the Custom Code list after moving domains.

How do I remove it after launch?

Delete the line where you added it and publish. The feedback you collected stays in your dashboard.
